Color Wow Dream Cocktail Carb-Infused Leavin-In Styling Gel

As an avid TikTok user, I recently watched a sponsored ad that was served to me in my feed. I was intrigued by the content of the ad which convinced me to buy the product. Color Wow Dream Cocktail Carb-Infused Leave-In Treatment is a leave-in styling gel used to plump up fine or thin hair. Having lived with fine hair most of my life, it was never really an issue because I had a lot of it. However, recently I lost some hair which has made my hair very thin and unattractive. Therefore, the product caught my eye, and I thought I would give it a try.

Unfortunately, after using it twice, I did not see any improvement (see image) from my other hair thickening products. The only positive is that my hair seemed to have more moisture, and less static. I saw others on TikTok saying the same thing in the comments on the ad and in my video review. It is interesting that I did not work for me as reviews on the product in the TikTok shop were mostly 5 stars with positive comments.

Based on my experience and being a digital/ecommerce marketer, I highly recommend brands that are looking to connect with their target audiences and with smaller budgets (especially in the beauty and cooking categories) test out TikTok advertising. It is very cost effective, as the average CPM on TikTok is $9.16 (as of November 2023). TikTok advertising prices start at $0.50 CPM and $0.02 cost per click. A minimum budget of $500 is required to spend on a campaign, with a minimum daily budget of $50 at the campaign level and a minimum of $20 per day at the ad group level.

Has your brand tested out TikTok advertising? If so, how well did the ads perform and did you see sales lift?
